The Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex (WSWHE) Board of Cooperative serves 31 school districts in a five-county region. The BOCES Board of Education, a governing board made up of representatives from component school districts, is responsible for the oversight of curricular, financial and other policy decisions. The chief executive officer of a BOCES is the District Superintendent who works closely with local school districts as a liaison/agent of the New York State Commissioner of Education.
The Southern Adirondack Education Center (SAEC) inducted 88 members into the National Technical Honor Society on April 30, 2024. The ceremony was held at Queensbury High School.
CTE and ECCA students participated in the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Championships and several returned with Champion titles in their respective fields.
April is Autism Awareness Month and WSWHE BOCES celebrated its BEARS classes on Friday, April 12, 2024 with their first annual “BEARS Bonanza” at the F. Donald Myers Education Center in Saratoga Springs, NY.
On April 10, 2024 WSWHE BOCES held its annual meeting of the trustees and members of the boards of education of its component school districts. Culinary arts students prepared and served dinner to more than 60 guests.
New York State School Districts and BOCES are required to develop a district-wide school safety plan designed to prevent or minimize the effects of serious violent incidents and emergencies and to facilitate the coordination of the district with local and county resources in the event of such incidents or emergencies.
