Resources for
Teachers
Language Clubs
Meet monthly with your colleagues and an
enthusiastic discussion leader who is
fluent in your target language and has
teaching experience. Topics that focus
on culture (books, film, current events,
etc.) will be chosen by the group.
Immersion
Weekends
We have partnered
with Skidmore College to offer LOTE
teachers a local immersion experience
specifically designed to meet their
interests.
Professional
Development Lectures and Workshops
Professional
development opportunities for LOTE
teachers can be found in the WSWHE BOCES
Professional Development
catalog and
calendar.
Teacher

program. Contact us to find out about
some of the available opportunities.

Media Resources
Multi-lingual and
multi-cultural resources such as
culture boxes will be available
through the School Library System, a
state-funded network that facilitates
interlibrary loan and resource sharing
among member libraries and other library
systems both regionally and throughout
the state. These materials can be
borrowed through the
Language and Culture Resource Center
Catalog.
Arts-in-Ed
A Web-based “Directory
of Arts in Education” is available
to participants in the Arts-in-Ed
service. Teachers can search this
directory by topic and choose presenters
that support their language and culture
initiatives. These programs are
eligible for BOCES aid.
Interactive
Technology
The Language and Culture Resource Center
offers technology workshops tailored to
the needs of LOTE teachers. See our
calendar for details or contact us
to request a customized workshop for
your faculty.
