MultiMedia Services
provides resources for teaching and learning. Different
media formats accommodate a variety of student learning
styles and are a necessary component for resource-rich
learning experiences. Our professional media staff assists
teachers with locating, evaluating and integrating media
resources to prepare students for higher standards and more
rigorous assessments.
The BOCES Media
Library offers over 9,000 educational videos and
other types of media resources. The collection can be
assessed and booked on-line via the web-based Media Catalog.
Requests are also received by voice
phone request, fax or mail. In addition to the curriculum
center choices, “Timely Topics” is a collection of
seasonal videos conveniently sent to every elementary school
participant.
In addition to the
video library, Media Services also offers selections from
its “25 title Big Book”, “54 title Multiple Book”,
“225 title Audio Book”, 400 title CD-ROM and 140 title
DVD collections.
School Districts
may also request off-air taping and duplication from a
variety of sources including cable television and multiple
satellite formats. Also, foreign videotapes can be converted
to formats capable of being used in the classroom.
