Violence Prevention Certification Training
On July 24, 2000, Governor George Pataki signed into law the most comprehensive legislative plan in the country, entitled Project SAVE (Safe Schools Against Violence in Education), to promote a safer and more effective learning environment within New York State’s schools. One component of SAVE is the requirement that candidates seeking permanent NYS certification participate in a two-hour violence prevention certification training.

According to this law, this two-hour certification course is required for any individual applying for permanent certification on or after 2/02/01 through the State Education Department such as a teacher, teaching assistant, pupil personnel services professional, school administrator, school athletic coach, supervisor or superintendent of schools.
Classes are all held at the Gick Road Conference Center and the cost is $35.00. To register, please contact Ann Williams @ 581-3711/746-3711.
