WSWHE BOCES Board of Education Member

H. Harry Balz – Elector of the North Warren Central School District.  I’m married to Elaine for 43 years with three children and five grandchildren.  I retired seven years ago and relocated to the North Country from Long Island.  I had been in the heavy construction industry for 45 years and the last 25 years was Vice President and Chief Engineer of a major Long Island based contractor.  I have been a volunteer fireman for 52 years and served five years as Chief of dept. for a 375 member Village Fire Department.  I also served the 26,000 resident community Village Planning Board for 6 years, 4 as Chairman.

I serve as Secretary of the Corporation of the Townhouse Association where we reside and have been involved with pro bono projects for the Town of Horicon, North Warren Schools and the Chestertown Fire District.

Presently, I am serving as President of the East Shore Schroon Lake Association and a member of the Town of Horicon Zoning Board of Appeals.  I have been a member of the BOCES Board of Education since 2001 and enjoy helping the education system in any way I can.
