WSWHE BOCES Board of Education

Jeffrey Piro – residing in the Town of Greenfield, within the Saratoga Springs Enlarged City School District, since 1980. He lives with his wife, Debra. They have two daughters. Abby, lives and works in the area, raising her daughter, Natalie. Lauren, still at home, attends Syracuse University, where she is studying to become a Spanish teacher.

Jeff grew up in Syracuse, NY. He studied and was degreed in environmental studies and landscape architecture at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University, and has been working as a professional landscape architect since 1976, after receiving his professional degree. He presently is a self-employed, licensed landscape architect, specializing in environmental permitting and infrastructure design services to New York's public schools.

Jeff is beginning his eighth year of service to the children and parents of the Saratoga Springs City School District. He has previously served for two years each as vice president and president of the board of education. Jeff is both pleased and proud that he is able extend his service to the entire region of the WSWHE BOCES. In these days of un-funded mandates and rising costs, he is particularly committed to not only the children, but also in exploring and implementing new and creative ways to share services between the component school districts.
