WSWHE BOCES Board of Education

Susan Murante – Susan Murante has been a resident of North Creek for seventeen years. She grew up in Albany, NY and attended the College of St. Rose, Nazareth College, and the State University of NY at Albany. After graduation, she taught second grade in Albany, Boston, and Rochester. She then became a Puppeteer in schools and art centers after she saw the value of creative puppetry in building self-esteem.

Susan served as Public Affairs Director and talk show host for WPXN-WPXY in Rochester, NY. This gave her the media skills necessary to start her own Public Relations business. She then served as a press officer for the Cuomo Administration for ten years and become the Media Coordinator for the NYS Board Association's Ambassador Program. All of these communications experiences were enhanced by her education background.

Susan's interest in public education began with her teaching days and has always been foremost in her careers. She is the mother of two children.

Susan would like to be an active part of a team that works with the local school districts at the meeting the needs of each individual child, for each child is special. She sees WSWHE BOCES as the tool for the success of each child. She would like the opportunity to use her educational and communication experiences and her desire to see each child succeed by being elected to the WSWHE BOCES board.
