Custom Service (2008-2009)In addition to the base service, custom work can be commissioned by participating districts for an additional charge. Quotes for custom work are based on the scope of the project and are determined prior to commencement of activities. Custom service work consists of district or school-specific projects and may include: Ø State assessment error analyses o Examples: § What areas of ELA Book 2 were the most difficult for students and what were the common errors? § In the Biology Regents exam, why did students select the wrong answer and what were the common errors?
Ø Predictive studies of annual assessment data o Examples: § Do 8th grade assessments predict performance on Regents? § How are ELA results related to Social Studies results?
Ø Formative Assessment/Psychometric assistance o Assessment audits/assessment alignment facilitation. o Rubric and item development. o Providing validity and reliability assistance for classroom assessments.
Ø Survey construction and analysis o Examples: § Development of paper or on-line evaluation surveys. § Analysis and summary of qualitative and/or quantitative survey responses.
Ø Grading practice review o Workshops on district grading practices and discussion of report card or policy revisions
Ø Planning facilitation o Assistance in developing action plans based on district’s data analyses.
Ø Evaluation assistance o Examples: § Grant evaluation as required by funding agency. § Determine effectiveness of instructional program or intervention.
Ø Capacity building o Assistance in developing database formats for the collection, management, and analysis of student or district data.
