39th Annual Talent Unlimited Recognition Ceremony

For 39 years, the Enrichment Resource Center (ERC) at the WSWHE BOCES has been giving area student artists and writers the opportunity to have their works selected for publication in the annual Talent Unlimited Literary Arts Journal. The journal features outstanding poems, essays, drawings, photographs, and graphic designs created by students in grades 7-12. The content is selected by a jury of professional artists and writers.

Selected students were celebrated at a recognition ceremony held in their honor on Tuesday, May 9, 2024. This year, 92 students from 22 component school districts participated. The accepted pieces were exhibited and students were invited to read their works. The featured guest speaker was Marcus Kwame Anderson, Illustrator, Cartoonist and Fine Artist from Upstate New York.

This is the second year where the ERC chose a Talent Unlimited Art Exhibit Honoree. This year’s honoree was Ashley Ossias from Stillwater High School, who was announced at the ceremony. Their work of art will be on display for the next year in the lobby of the WSWHE BOCES Ballard Road Conference Center, Wilton, NY.

Students who submitted their work for Talent Unlimited also had the option to have their work submitted for selection for the Saratoga Performing Arts Center’s Festival of Young Artists celebration to be held at SPAC on June 2, 2024. Thirty-nine works of art and nine literary pieces created by Talent Unlimited students were chosen by SPAC for the Festival.

All Talent Unlimited students were invited to exhibit their work at the Lake George Arts Project Courtyard Gallery in Lake George, NY from April 20-28, 2024.
