Creating Connections: ECCA Students Help Shape Well Child Foundation's New Logo

The Well Child Foundation embarked on a creative journey to develop a brand identity, reaching out to the Early College Career Academy (ECCA) New Media students for design assistance. With great enthusiasm, the students accepted the challenge, eager to contribute to such a meaningful project. The foundation's president and executive director met with the students to kick off the project with a comprehensive briefing.

During this meeting, the students engaged with the foundation team, asking insightful questions to ensure they fully understood the foundation’s mission and vision. Inspired by the opportunity to make a difference, each student crafted three unique logo concepts, which were then formally presented to the foundation for review. The foundation team carefully evaluated the designs and selected the top three.

To make the selection process even more community-driven, the foundation decided to host a public vote on Instagram, inviting followers to weigh in on their favorite design. The ECCA student finalists chosen for this stage were Adyn, Esmerelda and Joclin.

Melissa Seale, PMHNP- BC, founder of the Well Child Foundation said, “Well Child Foundation was born out of the necessity, importance, and noticeable lack of services for pediatric mental health in the Warren and Washington County area. We strive to provide the connection between families and resources, but above all connection to the community.”

“WCF wants to bring the children that we service into the narrative - we are very mindful that they be a part of everything that we do. This collaboration between WSWHE BOCES (Early College Career Academy program) and the Well Child Foundation is an extension of that,” Seale added.

After much anticipation and community involvement, the final logo design, created by Esmerelda, was selected as the new official logo for the Well Child Foundation. The collaborative process, marked by creativity, community engagement, and thoughtful design, resulted in a fresh, impactful identity that truly represents the foundation's values.
