Criminal justice studies students directed traffic. SkillsUSA and FFA students sat at every table and told guests about how competitions have helped them to hone their skills. Horticulture students created beautiful centerpieces. Graphics arts students designed the menu and recipe cards to compliment the floral arrangements used during the evening. Isabelle Lumbra, an Early College Career Academy new media student from Schuylerville CSD designed the program. The required annual meeting highlighted work-based learning at WSWHE BOCES and how these opportunities empower students and open doors to lifelong careers.
The 2025 President’s Award for Outstanding Service to the WSWHE Region was presented to Elizabeth Miller, President, Miller Mechanical Services. A visionary business leader, Elizabeth has been instrumental in fostering Career and Technical Education opportunities throughout the region.
Through partnerships with WSWHE BOCES, Miller Mechanical Services and Miller Machine Works have hosted 50+ interns and employ a workforce where 75% of welders are BOCES graduates. Her commitment to workforce development is shaping the future of the skilled trades.
