The Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES is committed to protecting the privacy and security of student data and teacher and principal data.

WSWHE BOCES has adopted Policy # 6810 Privacy and Security for Student Data and Teacher and Principal Data to implement the requirements of Education Law Section 2-d and Part 121 of the Commissioner’s Regulations, as well as to align the BOCES’ data privacy and security practices with the National Institute for Standards and Technology Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity (Version 1.1).

Education Law §3038 requires the superintendent of each school district, in consultation with the local Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) District Superintendent (DS) where applicable, to designate an employee of the school district or BOCES to provide materials and/or resources upon request to any student, parent or staff regarding where and how to find available substance use related services.

Pursuant to Education Law Section 3012-d, parents and legal guardians of students may request the final composite rating for each of the teachers and for the principal of the school building to which your child is assigned for the 2017-2018 school year.

New York State Education Law Section 409-H, effective July 1, 2001, requires all public and non-public elementary and secondary schools to provide written notification to all persons in parental relation, faculty, and staff regarding the potential use of pesticides periodically throughout the school year.
