Application Process
Applications for the Practical Nursing program are accepted beginning in January. Applications are due by the first week of August. Along with your application, you will also need to submit:
- Three professional reference letters (not from family)
- “Official” high school transcript or copy of GED or TASC
- $25 non-refundable application fee
- Copy of completed TEAS exam - get a copy by clicking here
TEAS Testing Information
Interview
After passing the TEAS Exam and submitting your completed practical nursing application, you must attend an interview with the adult practical nursing supervisor. Please prepare and dress as you would for an employment interview. Interviews will be conducted at Southern Adirondack Education Center and may include up to 4 members of the practical nursing program.
Acceptance
Students accepted into the Practical Nursing program will be notified by mail one week after their interview, but no later than the first week of August. To reserve placement in the practical nursing program once accepted, please submit the online seat reservation form with the $100.00 non-refundable fee. All accepted students will require medical clearance, BLS CPR for Health Care providers, and additional documents which will be provided upon acceptance.
