Criminal Justice Studies (CJS) students from the F. Donald Myers Education Center held their annual mock trial on December 1 and 2, 2022. It was, “Robbery: A Mock Trial” by Robert J. Rader.

November 30, 2022 — In celebration of the first New York State Apprenticeship Month and National Apprenticeship Week, Stillwater Central School District, the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES, and the Classroom Academy hosted New York State Department of Labor Deputy Commissioner of Workforce Development Chris White, New York State Department of Labor Director of Apprenticeship Training Christopher Pinheiro, and the US Department of Labor Regional Representative Charles MacNeil, for a tour of the registered Apprenticeship program in initial state teacher certification. The visit took place on November 30th at Stillwater Elementary School

Career and Technical Education (CTE) students showed thanks this holiday season by helping their community. On November 22, Culinary Arts students from the F. Donald Myers Education Center and the Saratoga Wilton Kiwanis Club packed 120 holiday food baskets for local families in need in what they call “Operation Turkey”.

WSWHE BOCES Exceptional Learners enjoyed a field trip to Saratoga for lunch.

Four students from the Southern Adirondack Education Center brought home a team bronze award as well as individual awards from the 95th National FFA Convention & Expo which included competing in the National Forestry Career Development Event (CDE) in Indianapolis, IN from October 25-30, 2022.

The WSWHE BOCES has a new program this school year at the F. Donalds Myers Education Center in Saratoga Springs. The Small Animal Science program is a two-year program based on national industry standards, using the Cornell University veterinary curriculum. Area clinics reached out to the administration last year to see about starting the program, and the response from students has been overwhelmingly positive.

On November 2, 2022 the Culinary Arts and Hospitality and Human Services program students at the Southern Adirondack Education Center started preparations for Hometown Thanksgiving, an event that provides hundreds to thousands (over the years) of free Thanksgiving meals to the Glens Falls community and surrounding areas.

Up to 125 ninth- and 10th-grade students from across the region attended a Manufacturing and STEAM Day event on October 21, 2022.

October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.
